The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Recording with Cubase

  1. The book was as described. Used, but in excellent conditon. My only complaint is that the shipping took forever.
    Rating: 5 / 5

  2. I considered myself a starter with Cubase recording, but, judging by this book, I guess I’m not a Complete Idiot when it comes to recording in general. This book does a great job for someone who really doesn’t have a clue, but if you have some knowledge of recording, even in other products, this book does not move you much beyond the basics. If you really don’t know anything about recording, this is a great book, and maybe warrents 5 stars. However, if you have some experience in Cubase or other recording products, there are better books which will take you further. I gave this book 4 stars because I really expected to learn more than it offered.
    Rating: 4 / 5

  3. Haven’t put this into action yet but the book is really easy to follow and read. I believe I can better understand CURBASE 4 and use it now.
    Rating: 4 / 5

  4. Having been a dedicated Sequel 1 & 2 user, I am now debating on whether to upgrade to a more powerful DAW. Anyone at this point knows that there are number of competing products in the market, including the industry favourite Pro Tools.

One can read all of the reviews one likes, but the perennial question of “will I be able to use this product” remains.

This book provided a very easy and pragmatic approach to the essential features of Steinberg’s Cubase program. By stepping me through the basic operating parameters, I can see how it is similar to Sequel and other DAW software; and, most importantly, how it is different.

Put simply, this book answers the perennial question with a “yes I can”!!

The $13 outlay is much cheaper than buying an expensive piece of software and finding out that it does not suit my needs!

The Idiot’s Guide also helped in resolving questions about what hardware is needed, as well as allowing me to cost any extras programs that might be required (like VST plugins!).

A very helpful book which is very easy to read and very easy to comprehend!

    Rating: 4 / 5

  5. Not bad at all.. as confusing as Cubase is to use at first, this book gets you on your way..
